Brightening the Lives of Children This Christmas
Opportunities still exist to brighten smiles this Christmas at Advocates for Children. Many local individuals, companies, church groups, and other organizations have already purchased items for the residents of the Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter and families participating in the Hope in Your Home program. However, some of the items on the children’s wish lists are currently unfilled.
Children at the shelter noted their five most wanted items, which are included on the list along with shelter requests for gift cards for group meals, activities, clothing items, and other necessities. Lists of the still needed items are available at advochild.org/christmas or at advochild.org/hiyhchristmas. All gift items should be dropped off unwrapped at 49 Monroe Crossing in Cartersville before 5 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 16.
“It is so kind to help others at a time of year when all of us have so much to buy,” said Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter Director Lyndsey Wilson. “These presents really will make a huge difference to these children’s Christmas.”
