In its efforts to prevent and treat child abuse in all its forms, Advocates for Children provides community services for children, including those currently in the foster care system. One such program under the umbrella of Advocates for Children offers children who are abused or neglected a voice in the court system. The Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) volunteer assesses the child’s situation and reports to the judge what is in the best interest of the child with a goal of a safe, permanent home for each child. CARTERSVILLE, Ga.- Oct. 3, 2016: The 12th annual Duck Dash 5K and Fun Run to support Advocates for Children are in the books after a cool October morning start for the event that attracted runners from Northwest Georgia and beyond. About 100 participants took part in the event Saturday, Oct. 1. Money was collected for Advocates for Children through race registrations and donations. Additionally, funds were secured through sponsorships from local businesses and organizations, including Cartersville Medical Center, Gary Fox, CPA and Ramey Wealth/Wells Fargo Advisors, bringing the total raised to nearly $12,000 before expenses. Early Bird Registration Extended for Duck Dash 5K and Fun Run

CARTERSVILLE, Ga.- Sept. 16, 2016: Those wanting to pre-register for the Duck Dash 5K and Fun Run, benefiting Advocates for Children, have a few extra days to enjoy the early bird registration prices. Early bird registration has been extended to 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2016. Prices will increase after that by $10 for the 5K and $5 for the Fun Run. In a little over a month the doors will open on Magnolia Designer Show House in one of the historic districts of Cartersville. Atlanta magazine, Atlanta Magazine's HOME, and Beverly Baribault Design Group (BBDG) are presenting the Magnolia Designer Show House with ticket proceeds going to benefit Advocates for Children. 12th Annual Advocates For Children Duck Dash 5K & Fun Run

CARTERSVILLE, Ga.- Aug. 24, 2016: On Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 runners will lace up their running shoes for the 12th Annual Advocates for Children Duck Dash. Registration has already started for the event that will benefit Advocates for Children. The 5K chip timed race will take off at 8 a.m. from the parking lot of Cartersville Primary School at 315 Etowah Drive, with the Fun Run starting at about 8:45 a.m. On-site registration will begin at 7 a.m. the morning of the race.
