By working together as one, we all can play a part in building communities and growing hope in children and families. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. During this month and throughout the year, Advocates for Children and Harbin Clinic are dedicated to supporting families to reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect.
Plant a Pinwheel Garden!
Last year our Children’s Advocacy Center, which conducts forensic interviews for Bartow County, conducted 385 interviews—that’s 385 children who reported abuse (85-90% of which were sexual abuse allegations) in Bartow County alone.
This year, we asked churches, businesses, and other community members to partner with Advocates for Children to raise awareness about this tragedy and how to prevent it in the future.
You can participate in this year’s CAP Month by purchasing 385 pinwheels (representing the children and youth of Bartow County) for $385. Plant these pinwheels in front of your store, venue, or church and encourage the community to become involved in preventing child abuse and promoting great childhoods!
In addition to the pinwheels, your organization or business will receive the following items:
- CAP Month Yard Sign
- Recognition on Advocates’ Social Media Pages
- Resource Booklet
