Safe Place is a national program that is the first step in helping any youth in crisis or at risk. This community collaboration is operated in Bartow County and surrounding areas to make it possible for kids to access help at locations throughout their community, including fast food restaurants, gas stations, fire stations, libraries, bus stops, and grocery stores that display the vibrant yellow and black Safe Place signs. The initiative connects youth to immediate help and supportive services if they feel as if they are in danger.

NEED HELP NOW?

  • Find a Safe Place nationwide at nationalsafeplace.org. Youth in crisis can text the word SAFE and their current location to the number 44357 and they will receive an address of the nearest Safe Place site and contact number for the local youth shelter. In cities that don’t have a Safe Place program, the youth will receive the name and number of the youth shelter or, if there is no local shelter, the National Runaway Switchboard Hotline Number (1-800-RUNAWAY).

  • To become a Safe Place, contact Advocates for Children Administrative Office at 770.387.1143 or Info@AdvoChild.org or email Christina at christina@advochild.org
