Welcome to Advocates!

Advocates for Children is a non-profit organization devoted to serving children and families in Bartow County and surrounding North Georgia counties. Through our umbrella of programs including Flowering Branch Children’s Shelter, A Better Way Children’s Advocacy Center, and Court Appointed Special Advocates, we strive to one day help create a world where all children are respected and loved, happy and thriving. With your help we can continue to bring hope and comfort to over 2,600 children every year and offer the compassion and integrity that so many children in our community need.

Christmas 2014

Season Greetings Everyone!

Christmas time is here and the kids at Flowering Branch are starting to get into the holiday spirit! Would you like to provide a meal for the children in the month of December or even Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? We want to make this Christmas very special for our residents because they deserve to have a wonderful Christmas, just like all of the children in our community do. The children will be out of school for Christmas break from December 22 to January 5 or 6 (depending if they attend city or county). We will have up to 13 children residing in the shelter and welcome sponsorship of meals, activities or outings to keep them busy during the break. Please take a look at the calendar and sign up where we have openings.

I have updated our donation list to reflect our new basic needs with this time of year! Please check it out at advochild.org and let me know if you have any questions. Also, The Christmas Wish List is UP !! Please follow this link:Click HERE to view the December calendar.

Are you an expert gift wrapper or are you one of those people who loves to wrap gifts as much as you enjoy buying them? We will have a lot of gifts to be wrapped for the children. If you would like to help us out with gift wrapping for the Christmas season, please click on the following link: Click to View Volunteer Opportunities on VolunteerSpot

I know our staff and residents always look forward to having volunteers be a part of the holiday season. Christmas is such a special time of year, especially for children, so we greatly appreciate each and every one of you for making it all possible! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts :)

Many Blessings,

Kaylee Klewein, Volunteer Coordinator (770) 387-1143 ext. 104
