Each year, Advocates hosts fun filled community events that provide vital funding for their many programs. Below are descriptions of each of our annual events. Please make sure to see our full calendar for a list of all events and their dates.
Thank you for making our fundraising events such a huge success for more than 30 years. Join us at one of the following events as we have fun while making a difference!
Annual Meeting – Appreciation Luncheon
Advocates for Children starts each year by thanking donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and other supporters of the organization at our annual appreciation luncheon. Community members gather to celebrate the previous year’s accomplishments, look forward to the year ahead and recognize some of those who dedicate themselves to Advocates’ mission of preventing and treating child abuse in all its forms.
The annual Spring Benefit event raises money through an evening full of fun combined with silent and live auctions. Live auction raffle tickets are available to anyone interested and those who cannot attend the event are still able to bid in the silent auction from home. Our dessert dash is always a fun way to start the live bidding portion of the evening and leads to great entertainment and competition.
Duck Dash 5k & Fun Run
The Duck Dash is the longest consecutive-running road race in Bartow County with one of the fastest and flattest courses around and is suitable for runners of all ages and abilities.
The Duck Derby is a really quacky concept. To win the Grand Prize of $10,000 cash, all you have to do is adopt a duck. Duck Adoptions range in price from $5-$250. Each duck you adopt will be released into the man-made river at Sam Smith Park for the big Duck Derby. Quacky and his friends will put on a wake boarding show, pulling the winners from the water as they go. The first duck to be pulled from the water will win the $10,000 grand prize.
